(01.12.14) It was actually a Brooklyn Weekend. The Brooklyn events began with brunch at Corlette in Bed Stuy. Despite the good yelp reviews, do NOT go there. Supposedly it was an off day because the chef wasn’t in so his second in command filled in horribly. I have never waited so long for a meal. It was 1 1/2 hour before we got all our food. Our first server was pretty oblivious. Thankfully someone else working noticed and I give him credit for trying to make things right. What was more unforgivable was people that arrived later than us got their meals before us and they got a dish that supposedly we were told they had run out of.
Next stop was Beast of Bourbon which was hosting Paint Nite. We were guided to paint dragonflies (pictured left). I find painting therapeutic and enjoy it even if sometimes I have to convince myself to stop touching up.
Beast of Bourbon was filled with the smells of BBQ. We couldn’t let our day end so we went to Dinosaur BBQ in Park Slope. I got the tres hombres - brisket, ribs and pulled pork with greens and course Mac and cheese (pictured right) Service was the opposite of brunch with the server apologizing for keeping us waiting when we had not been seated that long.
All in all a great Brooklyn weekend!
